Kelowna, BC – The GSL Group, developer and operator of Prospera Place, is pleased to announce they have installed a new state of the art LED video screen system above the existing scoreboard at the arena.
The four total screens will continue to sit above the current score clock in a halo style that will enhance and energize the visual experience for patrons. The main video boards are comprised of four new high-resolution LED full motion screens that are 6.5 feet high by 12 feet wide.
“When I found out Kelowna had won the bid for the Memorial Cup for 2020, we were very happy to upgrade the LED screens so the fans would have a better experience in the building,” GSL Group President and CEO Graham Lee said. “When we built Prospera Place in 1999, these type of screens were only in the newer buildings in larger cities like Vancouver and Los Angeles. Fortunately I have developed a strong relationship with an LED manufacturer in China over the past 15 years and installing these screens and the video production has become part of our business. These screens continue to become more affordable allowing us to make this decision to purchase these for the building. As technology improves we will continue to explore all ideas to create more fan engagement.”
Each LED screen displays are composed of 6mm video elements comprised from a single three-in-one SMD LED package. The screens display live high definition (HD) video action, features and special production pieces in HD quality.
“We are committed to Prospera Place being the premier multi-purpose sports and entertainment facility in Kelowna,” GSL Group Vice President, Sales & Strategic Partnerships Terry Armstrong said. “Upgrades to the arena, such as our new state of the art LED video screen system, allow Prospera Place to hold world class events of national significance that include the upcoming 2020 Memorial Cup presented by Kia. Here at GSL Group, our guests and the community are of the utmost important to us and we are inspired through new innovation and upgrades to the arena to create lasting experiences that make each visit a positive one.”
