New Elected President for IPE

We had a very successful AGM with many of our membership in attendance. This was an important
year as the presidency of the IPE was changing. Our outgoing President, Ted Fitchett had
completed his two consecutive terms of two years, and thus had to step down and is now the Past
President.

The new President for the next two years is Heather King. Heather has grown up at the fair and her
family before and after her have been heavily involved.

We also have a couple of changes to the Executive Directors: Patti Thomas is now the Vice
President and Lloyd Main joins the Executive Directors – both for two-year terms.
We are also pleased to announce the Volunteer of the Year was awarded to a long-standing
volunteer of the fair – Tom Underwood. He has been a volunteer with the Goat Division as well as
parking and security. Tom has invested a great deal of time and energy during the fair and it’s nice to
recognize him.

The Armstrong IPE is the largest agricultural fair in BC and will be celebrating the vegetable division
with the theme – “Our Roots Run Deep” at the 121st IPE – September 2 to 6, 2020
